ROWAN, Mr.Nathan "Tennie " age 87, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020, at Mercy Health Partners Sherman Campus. Muskegon, MI.Graveside Services will be conducted at 11am Friday, July 03, 2020, from Sunrise Memorial Gardens 2188 Remembrance Drive in Muskegon, with Rev.Raymond Settles, officiating(Pastor of Greater Harvest Baptist Church,)Visitation: Thursday, July 2, 2020, from 4pm-6pm , at. Divinity Funeral Home&Chapel, Inc.2812 Fifth St.in Muskegon Hts.Mr.Rowan , was born in Port Gibson, MS, to the union of the late Branch Rowan and Beulah Walls-Rowan."Tennie" as he was known throughout the community was raised in Mississippi and had attended the Mississippi Public School System.As a young adult "Tennie and his family moved to Michigan, where he later made Muskegon his home for over 50 plus years.While in Muskegon Mr.Rowan later met and married the love of his life the former Rebecca Robinson and was a member of Greater Harvest Baptist Church.Nathan, in his earlier years open and operated with his late brother-in-law Square Jackson, the Sixth Street Market for many years.In his latter years he was blessed to continue working and later assisted his son Curtis L.Reese Robinson, with his Funeral Business formerly known as Reynolds Memorial Chapel, in the Heights."Tennie, was a quiet and gentle soul but at times he was very outgoing and outspoken with a talkative personality.He loved to dress and reminisce about the "Good Ole Days" and his Striking Mississippi Ancestry.Mr.Rowan loved being at "Gatherings" especially with Family and Friends.He never met a stranger and was a friend to many.He had a very close and special bond with his nieces, nephews , grandchildren ,great-grandchildren and to know him was to love him.He touched our hearts in many ways and he will be sadly missed by us all.He leaves to cherish his precious memory: His devoted wife and companion of over 40 years Rebecca Rowan;one son Curtis L.(Sherri) Reese Robinson; A daughter Sabrina ( Charles) Todd;one brother Daniel "Danny"(Audrey) Rowan.A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and many dear and caring friends.Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by 3 brothers Willie, Larnel and James Rowan: 1 sister Blandeen Jackson;brother-in-law Square Jackson; a great- niece and three nephews.Arrangements Entrusted to Divinity Funeral Home&Chapel,Inc."Where Caring Makes A Difference" 231-733-2777
