Monroe People's,Sr.

PEOPLES,Mr.Monroe Sr.,age 91 of Muskegon Hts , passed away Thursday, November 12,2020, at his residence.Memorial Services will be held at 5:00pm Saturday,December 05,2020,to join the service go to www.ctafc.org and click on the Zoom meeting ,ID:83646711255.Mr.Peoples was born September 10,1929 in Starksville,MS.He was the eldest of nine siblings.On May 8,1950,Monroe was united in marriage to the love of his life ,the Cherrie M. Totten and later moved to Muskegon Hts,MI. To this union,seven children were born.In the early 1950's, Monroe was employed by Lakey's Foundry as a Metal Melter. He was a hard working family man,skilled with his hands and not an alien to challenging projects. He later worked and retired from Holland Neway,Muskegon,MI.Monroe was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost.He was a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church in Muskegon Hts., where he served as a  Trustee under the late Bishop Willie Burrel and later Sfg.Bishop Avery Burrel.He loved serving God's people and worked faithfully in the church, including completion of various building projects.His labor of love and legacy lives on today! Monroe loved people and did not meet a stranger. He was very jovial and loved to kid around,especially with his family.His grandchildren were his heart and he spent time with them often.Monroe loved taking his family to Mississippi to visit his sister,Olivia,during the summer.Everyone would crowd into Olivia's trailer home and wait for her to prepare breakfast.During these gatherings,family members would have lively conversations about the Bible.They also discussed those sweet potatoe pies Mama Plumma {Plummie} made and how Monroe wanted to eat a whole pie..Mr. Peoples leaves to cherish his memory, six children: Phyllis L.Davis of Union City , GA; Monroe {Sandra} Peoples of Aurora.CO;Robert L.Peoples of California; Sherita{Bruce} Calloway of Bellville,MI; Giovanna Renee Brown and Donzell L.Peoples of Muskegon Hts,MI; Siblings are ;  his sister Mae Collier of Los Angeles,CA;his brothers: Woodrow Williams of Elk Grove,CA:Esau Williams of Goodyear,AZ; Chester Williams of Compton,CA and Charles Williams of Los Angeles,CA.A host of grandchildren,great-grandchildren,great-great grandchildren, cousins,nieces,nephews and Christ Temple Apostolic Faith  Church family members.He was preceded in death by his parents: Otis Peoples and Plumma{Plummie} Peoples Williams, wife Cherrie M.Peoples,daughter: Doris A.Peoples, brothers: Joe Williams and RL{Bob} Williams and sister: Olivia Bishop Hill and a great -grandchild Jeremiah Davis.
