BEENE ,Mr.Gene Earl aka Gerald"Larome Powers" Robinson formerly of Benton Harbor, MI, made his transition to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in Dallas, TX at the age of 77.
Mr.Beene, a renowned R&B Soul Singer and Musician was born November 21, 1942 in Mantachie, MS.As a youngster he and his family moved to the Benton Harbor area where he attended the Benton Harbor School System and later graduated from Benton Harbor High School.
Gene Earl made his debut in the Music industry during the early 1960's and 70's and continued to perform until his health declined.
He sang in many Nightclubs before landing his first recording contract which was with Malaco Records, having shared the stage with some of the most talented and well-known R&B Artist around the world and to name a few Sir Charles, Bennie Lattimore, Millie Jackson and many others including the late Denise LaSalle.
Gene Earl was very proud of his Music( including his Gospel Roots)and most of all he truly loved what he did.
When in good health not only did he spend lots of time in the Recording Studios and on the road.He still made time to visit with his family and friends.
Mr.Beene was one of a kind, one who never met a stranger and was never at a lost for words.He had a Smile and a Glow with a ray of sunshine that could light up the entire world.
He will be remembered for his love of Fashion, his Eloquent Voice and his Romantic style of Singing.
He touched the hearts of many and will be sorely missed by us all.
Gene Earl is survived by a host of family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, a brother and sister, a granddaughter and a favorite uncle.
Visitation for Mr.Beene will be 10:00am Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Word Of Truth Deliverance Ministries 1209 Pipestone in Benton Harbor with a Homegoing Celebration commencing at 11:00am, Bishop James R.
